Ranch Road Exploration

Sun Apr 21, 2024 8:30AM     RIDE COMPLETED

Ready to do some exploring? There are many dirt roads between Hwy 60 and Hwy 380, southwest of Albuquerque, NM. We are going to follow these roads and end up in San Antonio, NM maybe for a green chile cheeseburger .

This is an ALL Day ride. We will meet at the start point, the Loves Travel Stop south of Belen be ready to leave at 9:00 am . We will drive out to Hwy 60 where Forest Rd 422 meets 60. We will turn south on B121 (I think!) which is a dirt road and air down and try to get to San Antonio, NM for burgers at the Buckhorn or the original Owl Cafe on Hwy 380.  It may be a late lunch so bring snacks. We will travel just east of the Sevileta National Wildlife Refuge on the other side of the mountains.  Then we will head back to town, sometime after that via I-25.

Not sure where we are going and not sure how to get there, after we leave pavement. If this sounds fun, meet up with us.  The ride will be on dirt ranch roads and should be good for stock vehicles.  There will be about 150 miles after we leave Loves until we reach a station in Socorro.

As usual, 4x4 low range, good off road tires,GMRS radio (CH 17),. recovery points front and back, and a way to air down and air up your tires and a full tank of gas, may be about 150 miles between gas stations if I don't get lost!
