Chloride Canyon Trail Ride

Sat Feb 21, 2015 9:00AM to Sun Feb 22, 2015 4:30PM     RIDE COMPLETED

I talked to Don in Chloride and he told me that the Musem and gift shop is open on Saturday morning at 10:00AM so they will be open when we arrive in Chloride.  They recently got snow but the Chloride Canyon trail is open at the entrance but he told me that we may only get 15 miles into the trail because of the snow.  However with the warm weather this week not sure and I told him we all have 4wheel drives.  Either way this is a senic trail I am sure we will all enjoy.  If you enjoy the musem please donate in their box by the visitor log, Don and his family have always welcomed us 4wheelers.

The Chloride Bank Cafe is open Sunday from 11am to 6PM, if anyone wants to go there on Sunday for Lunch befroe you head back home.

For more information on the town here is there website

Meet Saturday Morning 8:45AM and leave at 9:15AM  New time

Chevron Gas Station
2200 N Date Street
Truth or Consequences, NM 87901    Exit 79 off of I25

This is an easy trail but very senic with many water crossings, a couple of caves to see, and some petroglphys.  There is also an 8 mile road up the mountain to a Fire Tower.  This is an all day trail ride with the trail head in Cloride, NM.  Bring lunch, snacks, plenty of water.  The nice thing about this trail is that there are some restroom stops along the way.

There are plenty of great places to stay in Truth or Consequences, so plan on staying Friday and/or Saturday night.  If anyone is up for a group dinner Saturday we can find a place to eat.

Siera Grande Lodge

Motel 6  Dog Friendly

Sunday Morning, if anyone wants to meet for Breakfast we can do that too, or if anyone would like to go out to Monticello Canyon, I would be happy to lead that trail too it can be completed just before lunch to have lunch at the end of the canyon and then people can head back home.
