Worldwide Go Topless Day

Sat May 16, 2015 9:00AM     RIDE COMPLETED

Update 4-27-15.  Devin and I pre-ran La Bajada hill in the wet.  I did all the rocky parts in 2wd-Low in my JK, just needed 4wd to keep from slipping on a muddy hill or two.  This road can absolutely be done with a stock wrangler.  Devin even recalls seeing the forest service range run the hill in his stock F150 last year.  Looking at the club trail rating guide http://nm4w.org/trails/ this trail qualifies for an "Easy" rating.  It is a very scenic road with some very safe switch backs and great views of the valley below including Cochiti Lake.  There are also supposedly some petroglyphs along side the road, but I could not find them so if anyone knows where they are please let me know.

This year's Go Topless Day will be held on May 16th, 2015! It's a day of celebrating Jeep love, Jeep spirit, and the sense of fun & adventure that comes with owning a Jeep.

NOTE:  You do not have to have a jeep or the ability to remove your top to come on this ride.  It is open to anyone who would like to go.

This year Go Topless Day shares the date with Armed Forces Day. The Jeep 4x4 has an important role in our military's past and we are eternally grateful to our country's Armed Forces and veterans.

Where We Are Going:  Old Rt 66. La Badaja Hill and Santa Fe Blow Hole

CB Channel 4

Please be ready to leave the parking lot at the designated time.

Airing down is encouraged and will be done once we hit the dirt by La Badaja.  La Badaja is an old stage coach road and is unmaintained, it has some rocky spots and 4x4 low will be required.  A stock wrangler should be just fine, anything with less clearance may have ground clearance issues.  There may be an easy go around however that I will go scout out here soon and report back.  There is also a way to by-pass La Badaja all together so if you have a concern talk to me. Once on top the remainder of the trail to blow hole and beyond is an easy.  Bill Bonahoom 505-414-4245
