Mineral County Fairgrounds in beautiful Creede, Colorado will be the headquarters for the SWFWDA 2010 Summer Quarterly.  Isolated and picturesque, Creede, at 8,854', where 95 percent of the land is national forest or wilderness is in the SW section of Colorado.  Creede is NW of Alamosa between South Fork and Lake City.  Basing this event in Creede allows us easy access to some of the most scenic trails in Colorado.  Trails are rated from easy to difficult, with extreme scenery and a rich mining history. Trails will include Beartown (Kite L), Stony Pass, Bristol Head Peak, Crystal Lake, Carson Road, Heart Lake, Nelson Mt, East Willow Creek, Wheeler Geologic Area, Lost Mine Creek, West Willow-Bachelor Mountain, and many more.  In addition, an overnight run to Mt Blanca and runs to the difficult/extreme trails in the Del Norte area will be offered.  Bring your cameras, since July is a great time to see the wild flowers of Colorado in bloom.  There is more to do, including fly fishing for Brown Trout, the Creede Repertory Theater, horseback riding and exploring the mining town of Creede.
