Since there is lots of interest in the February 21st ride, this date is being offered as an alternative. Limited to 15 vehicles.
Meet at 8:00 am and depart at 8:30 sharp. This will be an all day ride. If there has been recent rain or snow, the ride may be canceled. The roads in this area get EXTREMELY MUDDY!.
Easy to moderate level ride on BLM roads/rugged two-tracks along mesas and canyons around Lucero and Gallina mesas. This is a primitive area with spotty cell service: cows, deer, coyotes, and us. Should be suitable for stock 4x4s with all/mud terrain off-road tires. Street tires/tread not recommended. Pinstriping is always possible while traversing narrow two-track roads/trails. Air down when we leave pavement near Highway 6 and air up when back on pavement. We'll plan to be back to pavement around 5:00 pm. Having a Laguna burger at 66 Pit Stop is popular to do post ride!!
Required equipment: full tank of gas, food, snacks, drinks, recovery points on front and back of your 4x4, recovery gear, low range gear box, GMRS radios.
Well behaved pets and kids, welcome. Bring chairs for lunch.
