I took seven rigs down to Gordy's for a toasty winter rock crawling season-opener. Temp's were high, but so was the level of fun had! We ran Lower Amado, The Great Escape, The Causeway, and then split into Upper Amado and Squeeze Canyon/Granite Canyon groups; we met up again on Upper Amado and came out on Chupadero Mine Road. Squeeze was an absolute blast - it's a tight and technical Level 7 that gets your attention in all the right ways. Big rocks, tight lines, lockers in, and a narrow chute through 10' walls of rock, woo hoo!! I hadn't been on Granite in a couple of years; it's gotten overgrown and washed out (but fun!) and we could use some cruises on that trail this winter. The chute at the end of Squeeze Canyon, and one overhanging wall in particular, gave some love to passenger rear fender flares but we got everyone through intact and without winching. Doug and Drew both made it up the big waterfall on Upper Amado. We had two flat tires, LOL. There were a number of silly mishaps throughout the day, so this might be an expensive run in fines at the next meeting. I will definitely do this run again!
